The opposition motion says that parliament is not satisfied with the way the government promoted Attorney-General Harry Whelehan or why his office took seven months to deal with an extradition warrant for a priest suspected of multiple child abuse.
The motion was made public hours before Prime Minister Albert Reynolds was due to explain the government's handling of the child-abuse case.
