Far East Airport Closed

VLADIVOSTOK, Far East () -- The largest civilian airport in Russia's Far East closed for a week Thursday because of a severe aviation fuel shortage, Itar-Tass reported.

The situation at Vladivostok Airport had been deteriorating for weeks, "but all the efforts exerted by the management of the airport failed to resolve the problem," airport workers said.

Oil refineries that usually supply the airport have been suffering their own shortages.
