Estonia Wins Loan

WASHINGTON () -- The International Monetary Fund has approved a second loan valued at about $16.9 million for Estonia under its Systemic Transformation Facility program for countries moving from communism to capitalism.

The IMF said Monday that Estonia had been highly successful over the past two years in stabilizing its economy, noting that inflation had subsided to 1 to 2 percent per month and output was believed to have grown by about 5 percent in 1994.
