Deputy Quits Budget Commission

A State Duma deputy announced Friday that he had quit the conciliatory commission working on the proposed 1995 budget because he said it was ignoring the needs of the military.

Alexander Piskunov, of the centrist New Regional Policy faction, headed a subcommittee on the classified articles of the military budget. He quit after the conciliatory commission, consisting of government and Duma representatives, turned down all his proposals to increase military spending.
