Deputy Pans Games

MOSCOW -- A lawmaker from St. Petersburg predicted that next month's Goodwill Games will be a "bad adventure," the Itar-Tass news agency reported. Alexander Nevzorov, a deputy in the State Duma, called on the Russian government Wednesday to "disassociate itself from the impending disgrace before it is too late." The Goodwill Games, starting July 23, will be the first major international sports competition in Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
