Dentists Seek Snuff Ban

. CHICAGO -- The American Dental Association has called for a ban on the use of chewing tobacco and snuff by Major League Baseball players during games.


"Players are highly visible role models," John Greene, dean of the University of California School of Dentistry, said Monday.


"Without a doubt studies show that snuff and chewing tobacco are culprits in a variety of serious health conditions."


Greene was the chief researcher in a new study, released by the Chicago-based association, involving professional baseball players
