Czech Coffee Prices Up

PRAGUE -- The Czech Coffee Union has asked domestic producers to raise coffee prices by some 10 percent monthly to fall into line with recent increases in world prices, CKS chairman Jiri Peter said. "There's nothing commercial in it. We're all unhappy about this," Peter said last week. "The price has fallen from 1986 and they (producers) did not have enough (money for replanting), the plantations were neglected and production capacity fell.
