HEISTERBERG, Germany () -- Police captured Tuesday one of two escaped convicts who led them on a wild 30-hour chase across Germany, switching getaway cars and hostages.
But the other man who had taken part in the spree, dubbed "the Machete murderer," continued to elude police.
The two men had kidnapped police officers, robbed a bank and raced through six German states.
