Communist Party deputies have requested another meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev regarding the outcome of Sunday’s regional elections, after the Kremlin had ordered elections officials to eliminate violations in the last vote.
“We’re adamant: It’s essential that the leaders of the parties in the Duma meet with the president to conduct an analysis of how the State Council’s decisions were implemented during the election campaign of March 14,” said Sergei Obukhov, a senior Communist deputy, Interfax reported.
Obukhov said that although Communists doubled their results, pulling in an average 20 percent of ballots, from 10 percent in October, the “usual bouquet of violations were noted.”
