City Bank Bombed

MOSCOW -- An explosion blew out three window panes in a building in central Moscow that is being reconstructed to house a branch office of the Stolichny Bank, spokesmen for the bank and police said Monday. The explosion was caused by an unidentified device at 2:45 A.M. on Saturday at building 24/2 on Ulitsa Chekhova, police spokesman Vladimir Zubkov said. There were no casualties. Vladimir Zaitsev, head of the security department of the bank, said he did not think the explosion was a deliberate action aimed against the bank. "We had not received any threats or demands," he said. "It was not a bomb, it may have been something drunkards threw in. We are not worried."
