CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Mark Price passed to Greg Dreiling for a dunk and drove for a layup at the start of the fourth quarter as the Cleveland Cavaliers ran off the first eight points of the period and beat the Indiana Pacers 90-83 Tuesday night.
The Pacers, who shot just 27 percent in the decisive fourth period, had their five-game winning streak snapped. Cleveland has won three in a row. Chris Mills scored 17, John Williams 15 and Bobby Phills 14 for Cleveland. Price had 13 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Rik Smits led Indiana with 26 points, and Dale Davis scored 16.
76ers 105, Heat 90. In Philadelphia, Willie Burton, released earlier this season by the Miami Heat, scored a career-high 53 points against his old team to lead the Philadelphia 76ers.
Burton's total was the highest in the NBA this season. It also set a Spectrum scoring record, surpassing the 52 points scored by Michael Jordan on Nov. 16, 1988.
Hornets 107, Bucks 101. In Charlotte, North Carolina, Alonzo Mourning scored 20 points to lead the Charlotte Hornets to a victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, who have lost 10 of their last 11 games. Glenn Robinson had 24 for Milwaukee.
Hawks 85, Timberwolves 83, OT. In Atlanta, Andrew Lang's short hook in the lane with 1:21 remaining in overtime lifted the Atlanta Hawks over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Mookie Blaylock led the Hawks with 19 points and Isaiah Rider, coming off a highly publicized spat with his coach, paced the Timberwolves with 23.
Lakers 115, Mavericks 108. In Dallas, Nick Van Exel hit four of his eight 3-pointers down the stretch and matched a career high with 35 points as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Dallas Mavericks.
Bulls 98, Pistons 78. In Chicago, Scottie Pippen and Toni Kukoc got hot just in time to rescue Chicago from a horrific third quarter, and the Bulls went on to defeat the depleted Detroit Pistons.
Pippen finished with 31 points and Kukoc a career-high 28 as the Bulls beat the Pistons for the second time in three games by an average of 20 1/2 points.
Rockets 93, Bullets 85. In Houston, Otis Thorpe had 27 points and 14 rebounds as the Houston Rockets led virtually the entire game, then turned back a Bullets rally for a victory over Washington.
Washington, which lost its third straight, got 22 points and 16 rebounds from Chris Webber. Calbert Cheaney and Scott Skiles each added 16 points.
Kings 112, Warriors 107. In Oakland, California, Brian Grant scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth period, helping the Sacramento Kings gain command and beat the Golden State Warriors, losers of seven straight.
