Capriati Strikes Deal

MIAMI -- Tennis star Jennifer Capriati has agreed to enter a 12-month monitoring program that will erase the marijuana possession charge against her, a prosecutor said. Prosecutors said Monday they had offered to let Capriati enter Dade County's pre-trial diversion program, which allows non-violent first-time offenders to avoid criminal records by completing programs that typically call for counselling and community service. Peter Paulousky, the prosecutor handling the case, said he learned on Monday that "she has accepted pre-trial diversion."
