Brazil to Botafogo

RIO DE JANEIRO () -- Botafogo took advantage of two controversial decisions to win the Brazilian championship, holding Santos to a 1-1 draw away in the second leg of the final to win 3-2 on aggregate.

Botafogo striker Tulio appeared to be offside Sunday when he headed his team into the lead in the 26th minute and the bad luck piled up for Santos when they had what would have been the title-winning goal disallowed in the second half.

Tulio's goal was his 23rd of the championship, which he finished as the runaway top scorer.
