Authorities made sweeps in the French capital, Toulouse, Lyon and Tours. Europe 1 radio said the suspects provided logistic and financial aid to the network of Islamic radical Khaled Kelkal, a key bombing suspect gunned down by police in October.
Eight people have been killed and 160 others wounded in eight bombings or attempted bombings around France. Muslim militants angry at France for supporting Algeria's military-backed regime have claimed responsibility for some of the attacks.
