Bloodthirsty' Chess

HYDERABAD, India -- American and Indian grandmasters played to a draw on the second day of the World Chess Federation's Candidates quarterfinals.

Six grandmasters are taking part in the tournament sponsored by the World Chess Federation, known by its French acronym FIDE. Three of them will qualify for the semifinal round.

Tuesday's games were fought keenly and the players looked bloodthirsty.

The lone Indian representative grandmaster Viswanathan Anand disappointed hundreds of home fans when he failed to vanquish American grandmaster Gata Kamsky, 20.
