MINSK — Belarussian authorities detained about 40 ethnic Polish activists on Monday, increasing tension days after Warsaw recalled its envoy to protest against an earlier crackdown, one of those arrested said.
Poland condemned the detentions and called for the European Union to put pressure on Belarus.
