Baiul to Stay in Ukraine

KIEV -- Women's Olympic figure-skating champion Oksana Baiul will stay in her native Ukraine to train after changing her mind about a contract which would have meant moving to the United States. The Ukrainian Financial Group, one of the former Soviet republic's biggest concerns persuaded the 16-year-old to stay at home, the company announced Wednesday. The contract provides money for building two new skating rinks.
