Back Around the Table

WASHINGTON () -- While Major League Baseball players and owners say they will bargain again next week, they do not see any movement occurring to break their stalemate.

After a secret session Thursday with mediator W.J. Usery, the two sides agreed to return to the negotiating table.

"We're trying to get people to talk reasonably, talk about the problems baseball has,'' Usery said after the session, which was devoted to ground rules.

Usery said the two sides will negotiate from next Thursday through Sunday, probably in Washington.
