Aussie XI Steals Day

HOBART, Australia () -- Australian XI captain Damien Martyn and Tasmanian teenager Ricky Ponting gave England's cricket team a first-hand look Friday at the depth of talent available to the home side during the coming Ashes series.


Martyn, who made 103, and Ponting, with 71, put on 132 in only 32 overs to help their side to 327 for 5 at stumps on the first day of the four-day match.
