Anti-Police Leaflets Probed

Sakha police are investigating three local residents who may face charges of extremism for calling on people to act against policemen, Interfax reported.

A police spokesman did not elaborate on the nature of the calls but said the suspects, aged 20 to 25, were spreading anti-police pamphlets and conducting propaganda online.

A group of self-proclaimed “guerrillas” targeted police officers in the Primorye region in the Far East this year. Four members of the group were detained in June, but their attacks are said to have inspired similar acts of anti-police violence nationwide.
