SALVADOR () -- At least 60 people were killed
hen a Guatemalan jet crashed in fierce weather on the flanks of a volcano in central El Salvador, an official from the Aviateca airline said Thursday.
Eduardo Marroquin, head of reservations for Aviateca in San Salvador, said the plane, a Boeing 737 en route from Miami, Florida, to San Jose, Costa Rica, was preparing for a scheduled stopover at San Salvador airport when the accident occurred late Wednesday.
"Sixty people have been found dead," Marroquin said.
Police said they found no one alive.
