Vladimir Filonov / MT

A woman had to be rescued from an ice floe on the Moscow River in central Moscow early Wednesday morning, the RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing an unidentified source from Moscow's emergency services.

The woman in her mid-thirties was rescued from the sheet of floating ice at 4.29 a.m., according to RIA Novosti.

"The ice floe on which the woman was found was floating along Savvinskaya Naberezhnaya," the source told RIA Novosti.

The woman has been hospitalized. She was in a confused state and was unable to tell the rescue services how she came to be on the ice floe.
