5 ANC Members Shot

Five African National Congress suppporters were lured to their deaths in Kwa-Mashu township outside Durban, Natal, by an offer to talk peace with their Inkatha rivals, a survivor of the killing said Wednesday.

Nine people who accepted the invitation were locked in a room for two hours, bundled into a van, then released into a hail of bullets, survivor Baba Shibe said.

Despite the spiraling violence in the Zulu heartland of Natal, ANC leader Nelson Mandela said Wednesday there was no possibility of delaying South Africa's first all-race elections next month.
