Boston Messages Painted on U.S. Diplomat's Car

Messages related to the Boston Marathon bombings were painted on a car belonging to a U.S. diplomat in Moscow, Interfax reported.

The Nissan SUV with diplomatic number plates was parked on Druzhinnikovskaya ulitsa in the center of Moscow on Friday when the incident took place. Messages in both Russian and English were left on the hood, fenders and doors of the car, police said.

The nature of the writings, the name of the diplomat and other details of the incident were not revealed. Police only clarified that the messages were connected to the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings.

Five people were killed and more than 200 injured on April 15 when Chechen immigrants Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev planted two pressure-cooker bombs near the finishing line at the Boston Marathon.

Tamerlan was shot dead on April 19 by Boston police while his younger brother Dzhokhar is still being treated at a Federal prison medical center in Devens, near Boston.
