12,000-Square-Meter Fire Erupts in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg’s industrial zone erupted into flames after a large hangar caught fire on Dec. 3.

The fire grew to 12,000 square meters as nearby containers, rubber and building materials caught fire.

Over 220 firefighters helped contain and extinguish the fire, and a chemical-radiometric laboratory was sent to the area.

There were no fatalities or injuries from the fire, Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said.
