Eight Rob Moscow Bank, Steal 2 Million Rubles

Andrei Makhonin / Vedomosti

Eight armed individuals robbed a bank in east Moscow on Thursday evening. According to the TASS news agency, the robbers stole 2 million rubles ($31,300) from the vault of United National Bank, whose license had been revoked by the Central Bank in early October.

Police sources say that the masked attackers used non-lethal pistols during the robbery, wounding one of the bank's employees in the hip.

Authorities have announced a city-wide search for the robbers, but so far no arrests have been made.
