$1.3M Spent to Ensure May Day Sunshine in Moscow

People walk across Red Square in Moscow as St.Basil's Cathedral is seen in the background.

Almost 86 million rubles ($1.3 million) are to be spent on dispersing clouds over Moscow for the May 1 holiday, state-run TASS news agency reported Monday.

The Moscow government’s online information portal announced that the city had accepted a bid from a single contractor to carry out the work.

The contract is valued at 85,941 million rubles, which will be paid from the Moscow city budget. Work is scheduled to be carried out on Saturday.
