Ukraine's Poroshenko Wants Diplomatic Solution for Crimea and Donbass

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko believes that there is a diplomatic way out of the Donbass and Crimean crises, Radio Svoboda reported Monday.

According to the president, "there is no military solution" either for the separatist-held Donbass region in eastern Ukraine, or the annexed peninsula of Crimea.

"I am a peaceful president and to provide effective actions … we need the efforts of Ukrainian diplomats," he said, Radio Svoboda reported.

Poroshenko added that Ukrainian diplomats have already achieved significant success in this regard.

… we have a small favor to ask.
