Siberian Airport Employee Fined for Taking Shortcut Through Fence

An airport employee in the Siberian town of Kodinsk has been fined for creating an opening in the airport's fence and climbing through it to gain access to a restricted zone last month.

The employee had been working outside the airport's perimeters and had wanted to speed up his entry by dodging compulsory security checks, the West Siberian Transportation Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday in an online statement.

The employee has been fined 3,000 rubles ($45) for breaching transport safety rules, the statement said.
