Naked Man Tries to Break Into U.S. Embassy in Moscow to Escape 'Spies'

The U.S. Embassy in Moscow.

A man has been detained in Moscow after trying to break into the U.S. Embassy completely naked, a news report said Thursday.

The man was detained Wednesday evening when trying to climb over the fence of a building belonging to the U.S. Embassy on Moscow's Novinsky Bulvar, an unidentified law enforcement official told Interfax news agency.

The naked man told police he was being followed and was attempting to seek refuge. It remained unclear from the report whether the man was a U.S. citizen.

He has since been hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic, the law enforcement official said.
