Joyrider Drives Burning Construction Crane Into Ambulance

Police in the northwestern city of Petrozavodsk on Monday night detained a man believed to have taken a construction crane on a drunken joyride around the city, damaging an ambulance in the process.

The man, identified as a 23-year-old in a police statement, also ignored traffic police when they ordered him to stop, opting rather to continue driving the crane even after it had caught on fire.

He currently faces an array of minor charges for the night of misadventures, from traffic light violations to driving under the influence. For leaving the scene of two separate accidents, he faces administrative arrest if ordered by a court.
