The woman made the bomb threat after she missed her flight from Domodedovo Airport.

An elderly woman who missed her flight from Domodedovo Airport tried to get the plane to come back for her by telling security officers she was carrying a bomb.

Bomb disposal experts who were summoned to the scene on Sunday found no explosives in the baggage of the 65-year-old, a transport police spokesman said, Interfax reported.

The woman made the bomb threat after she missed her flight to the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Varna on Sunday.

"At first she demanded that the plane be stopped and she be allowed to board," the spokesman said. "And when border officials turned down her request, she said she had a bomb."

Criminal charges may be brought against the woman, he said.
