IMAX to Open in Yakutsk

IMAX and Siberian construction company Simiir have signed a deal to build an IMAX screen in a new entertainment complex in Yakutsk, the city's first.

The deal is the 60th such agreement that IMAX has racked up over 10 years in Russia and the former Soviet states, the Canadian company said in a press release, adding that the Russian market is its third largest in terms of size and speed of development.

As of Sept. 30, IMAX had 785 screens in 55 countries worldwide.
