Historical Tourism to Attract Visitors to Moscow Region

A historical tourist park named Rubezh, or Frontier, may soon appear to the west of Moscow and will recreate and combine the atmospheres of America during the Gold Rush and a pre-revolutionary Russian county town, the Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.

The project, to be built in the town of Vereya, is expected to both raise interest in the Moscow region and revive the feeling of provincial towns, Andrey Maistrov, the project's creator, said last week.

The site will be divided into two thematic areas — the Russian country and the Wild West. The eras will be reproduced through architecture, traditional food and efforts to conjure up the spirit of the time.

Tourists will be offered entertainment such as nobility and merchant clubs, a club for harmful addictions control, the Society of Fine Arts and a club for aeronautics fans.

… we have a small favor to ask.

Your support, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you can, please support us monthly starting from just 2. It's quick to set up, and you can be confident that you're making a significant impact every month by supporting open, independent journalism. Thank you.
