Gazprom, CNPC CEOs Negotiate Gas Supplies

Gazprom chief Alexei Miller on Wednesday held talks in China seeking a deal to supply gas to one of the world's biggest energy markets, Gazprom said.

Miller met with China National Petroleum Corporation chief Jiang Jiemin to speak about potential deliveries of both pipeline and liquefied natural gas. They also discussed the possibilities of cooperating in underground gas storage in China.

Gazprom aims to sign a contract this year for pipeline gas sales to China, which would entail building a dedicated pipeline.
