Mosenergo Woos Quadra

Mosenergo is in talks about buying another power producer, Mikhail Prokhorov's Quadra, Vedomosti reported, citing a

source close to Gazprom.

Sources close to Prokhorov's Onexim told the paper that the talks had been in progress for more than a month, that the company would be sold "for more than its market value but not much more," and that the price had not yet been finalized.

Prokhorov paid 26 billion rubles ($857,000) for 50.3 percent of the company in 2008.

Inter RAO UES has also been interested in buying Quadra, but the deal never happened because the parties could not agree on a price.

Quadra manages combined heat and power plants in 11 central Russian regions, with a total power capacity of 3,502 megawatts.
