MTS' Uzbek Assets Seized

The Tashkent Criminal Court in Uzbekistan imposed suspended sentences or fines on four executives of Uzdunrobita, an MTS subsidiary, and confiscated its property, Interfax reported Monday, citing a government source.

MTS confirmed the court decision regarding Uzdunrobita employees and the company's property.

The company called the sentences and fines "unjust."

AFK Sistema, MTS' parent company, will file a claim against Uzbek authorities with an international court, Sistema chief Mikhail Shamolin said in an interview with television channel Vesti 24.
