Kemerovo Complains of High Air Prices

Kemerovo Governor Aman Tuleyev has asked President Vladimir Putin to weigh in on the situation with high airline ticket prices in the region, Gazeta.ru reported Wednesday, citing the regional government.

"Currently, airlines are just ignoring all customers' complaints and regional authorities' appeals," Tuleyev said in a telegram sent to Putin.

Tuleyev said the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service had found S7 and Aeroflot to be in violation of antitrust law by excessively increasing prices. He added that S7 intended to hike its prices by 12 percent in August.

Tuleyev also sent a letter to Vladimir Obyedkov, head of S7, on the same subject.

… we have a small favor to ask.
