Khabarovsk Gold Output Up

The Khabarovsk territory in Russia's Far East boosted gold production 37.8 percent year on year in the first half of 2012 to 7.73 tons, Interfax reported Friday, citing the local government.

This included 6.25 tons of vein gold, up 39.7 percent, and 1.48 tons of placer gold, up 30.2 percent year on year.

Silver production jumped 95.8 percent to 73.16 tons because Polymetal mined ore with heightened silver content at its Khakandzhe deposit. Platinum production in the territory fell by 15.6 percent year on year to 900 kilograms.
