Easter Terror Militants Slain

Nine terrorists have been killed by security services in the Stavropol region since Monday evening in two separate firefights, RIA-Novosti reported.

Police trapped four militants in a Lada on Monday evening in the Neftekumsky district of the Stavropol region. After encountering resistance, police shot and killed the suspected terrorists. Homemade explosive devices were found inside the vehicle.

On Tuesday, security forces killed five militants in a battle in the town of Mineralny Vody, also in the Stavropol region.

A local Federal Security Service spokesperson told RIA-Novosti that the terrorists had been planning attacks on Orthodox Easter, celebrated this coming Sunday, and during the May holidays early next month.
