Putin Plans Third Term

Vladimir Putin will use his third term as president to focus on the physical and spiritual development of the country, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The first term was a reanimation of the country, the second term was the rehabilitation of the country, and now begins the physical and spiritual development of the country — its economy and all areas," Peskov said in comments aired on state-controlled Channel One television late Saturday, Interfax reported.

Peskov also said an "updated" Putin was ready to get to work. "This updated Putin does not come, sit down and ask, 'Well what do we do now?' He knows well where he will go, what he will do, how he will do it, when and with whom."
