Siemens Gets Skolkovo Grant

The Skolkovo Fund investment committee approved a 20 million euro ($27.2 million) grant to Siemens Research Center, the committee said Thursday.

Total investment will be about 60 million euros, with the remainder coming from Siemens. The center will employ about 150 people by 2015, with the support of Siemens and the Skolkovo clinical center.

The Siemens Research Center was established in an agreement signed at this year's St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Siemens is also providing transportation between downtown Moscow and Skolkovo and organizing the public transportation system within the innovation city. It also supports the project through construction, information technology, telecommunications and medical equipment.
