Chamber Checks Arms Sales

The Audit Chamber board, chaired by Sergei Stepashin, has reviewed the audit of Russian Technologies military exports, the chamber's information department said.

"Ten out of 592 organizations that form the state corporation carry out foreign trade in military products as independent entities of military-technical cooperation, and another 110 enterprises export arms and military hardware under commission agreements with Rosoboronexport," the chamber said on its web site.

In 2009, the organizations' military product exports stood at $2.6 billion, or 29 percent of all military product exports. In 2010, the proportion was $2.8 billion, or 27 percent.
