Rostelecom has signed an agreement with IBM Eastern Europe/Asia on using cloud technologies, Rostelecom said Thursday.
Rostelecom intends to use the technologies for “electronic government [e-government] infrastructure.” Under the agreement, Rostelecom will make use of IBM’s SaaS (software as a service), IaaS (infrastructure as a service) and PaaS (platform as a service).
Rostelecom is the only organization implementing the Information Society 2011-20 federal target program to create infrastructure for e-government services. The telecom plans to invest 20 billion rubles ($734 million) in developing e-government infrastructure.
