Kyrgyzstan's parliament has postponed a vote on slapping a tax on aviation fuel to a U.S. air base supporting operations in Afghanistan.
Pro-government Deputy Azamat Arapbayev said Thursday that a bill on the levy needs further scrutiny before the parliament can vote on it next week.
U.S. officials have rejected the proposal to place a $100 duty on every ton of fuel sold to the base, saying it violates the terms of the lease agreement.
