Tit-for-Tat Expulsions

LONDON — Britain said Tuesday that it had expelled a diplomat from Russia’s embassy in London on Dec. 16 and that Russia had expelled a British diplomat from Moscow in return.

Britain said it had unspecified clear evidence of the diplomat being involved in Russian intelligence service activities against British interests. Russia requested the removal of the British diplomat on Dec. 16, with both of them already withdrawn.
