RusHydro in Krasnoyarsk

RusHydro acquired about 25 percent of the Krasnoyarsk hydropower plant, controlled by billionaire Oleg Deripaska, using 4.5 percent of its treasury stock, the state power holding said Wednesday.

RusHydro didn’t pay cash for the stake, it said in a statement, without identifying the seller.

The RusHydro stake has a market value of about 21.5 billion rubles ($690 million), while a blocking stake in Krasnoyarsk hydro has a value of 19.7 billion rubles, based on today’s share prices.

The Krasnoyarsk hydro stake was previously owned by affiliates of Siberian Coal Energy Company, Interfax reported, citing SUEK, as the coal producer is known.
