2 Detained for 12 Murders

Two suspected members of a gang active in the Rostov and Krasnodar regions have been detained in connection with a vicious mass murder that left 12 people dead last week, the Investigative Committee said on its web site Wednesday.

The names of the suspects were not released, but the committee said the duo might have acted over their “personal dislike” for one of the victims. More arrests may follow, the statement said.

The victims, mostly members of a local farmer’s family, including four children, were killed in the attack Friday in the Krasnodar region’s Kushchyovskaya village. The attackers stabbed most of them to death and tried to set the house on fire.
