EN+ Considers Gold, Coal

Oleg Deripaska’s EN+ may enter gold mining, given Russia’s attractive reserves and the industry’s lack of consolidation, first deputy chief executive Artyom Volynets said Wednesday.

“There’s room for more than one Polyus” in Russia, Volynets said, referring to the country’s largest gold mining company.

EN+ will also consider buying coal assets near existing mines as it seeks to boost output to 25 million metric tons in two to three years, from 15 million tons now, Volynets said.
