Prosecutor’s Office Burns

A brick-and-wood building that housed a district prosecutor’s office in Ryazan burned down early Thursday, Interfax reported, adding that police did not rule out arson.

Initial reports said paperwork kept in the building was destroyed, but later in the day a spokeswoman for the local branch of the Investigative Committee said the archive of criminal cases had escaped serious damage.

An investigation has been opened.
